I joined Northumbria University in 2006 and I am now in my fifth year of the architecture program. During my time at university, whilst studying for my BA(hons)Architecture degree, there were a series of projects that developed both in length and complexity as the course progressed. Alongside these assignments I also studied several key modules including sustainability, human comfort, architectural technology, design communication, spatial awareness and architectural history. By studying all these modules I expanded my understanding of the course and began to establish my own style within my design work.

Since my return to university, after successfully securing a year in placement at Sadler Brown Architecture, I have continued to learn and develop as an architecture student as well as taking control of my own learning. A year group project began with Northumbria student’s work being published and highly advertised – a project I played a lead role in, which sought to improve a local disadvantaged area of Newcastle, Shieldfield. As well as various design projects I have also been studying advanced technology, cultural context, project management law and research methods. As part of my research paper I have been focusing on ‘CGI and architecture’ something I have a strong passion for and would like to progress further during my career. I look forward to embracing further challenges whilst finishing my postgraduate studies.

I am an active member of the Northumbria Architecture Society and I am the fifth year rep.
