After studying A-Levels in Fine Art, Maths + English Literature, I started studying Architecture at Northumbria University in September 2009.
I have a passion for art; whether I am painting, viewing an artist’s work or speaking directly to an artist. I also have an interest in the notion of community, + have incorporated both this + art in the majority of the design projects I have undertaken at University. I am currently working on a public ‘Art Haus’ for the creative community of Newcastle, which allows space for group workshops + private studios in the city.
I enjoy working with various types of media; although I am able to use computers, I prefer to hand-draw, paint + create models to aid design process.
Outside of study, I enjoy photography, especially portraiture, + travelling. I would love to work abroad in my fourth year as an Architecture student, but also would love to give back to the north-east of England.
I am currently Secretary + a second year student representative of Northumbria Architecture Society, before taking on the role of President in September 2011. I have recently organised for guest lecturers to speak for the Society, + I am planning to arrange study trips alongside other events in the coming year.
