I began my degree at Northumbria in September 2008 after completing A-levels in Maths, Physics and Art.
I have always had a keen eye for design and decided to pursue a career in architecture after enjoying several placements including work experience in a practice in Liège, Belgium (as part of my French education) and working on a straw bale construction in East Yorkshire.
Throughout my architectural education I have developed an interest for sustainable design and combining functionality with warm and organic materials and I am inspired by Scandinavian architecture.
Although competent with computers, I prefer to work with a pencil and a drawing board. My designs are often realised through a series of drawings and models.
I have a strong interest in travel with an incentive to discover more in the future as part of my career and personal life and I have a keen interest in working abroad. Other past-times include skiing and tennis where I have competed at both club and university level.
I am currently an active member of the Northumbria Architecture society where I am treasurer as well as the third year student representative. I have been responsible for organising guest lecturers and events for the society.
